Signing between the KWAWASCO, County Water Department and three contractors
Today His Excellency Governor Salim Mvurya and Her Excellency Fatuma Achani witnessed the contract signing between the KWAWASCO, County Water Department and three contractors who have been awarded the tender to drill 11 boreholes, construct two reservoir tanks of 2.1 million litre capacity ,laying of 67kms of distribution lines within Ukunda Municipality and construction of an Administration block, which includes an in-house laboratory under the World Bank funded-Water and Sanitation Development Project.
The works will also include upgrading of the current distribution line from Ng’ombeni to Ukunda.
This is in an effort to improve the water supply in Ukunda and it’s environs.
The project will be completed in twelve months.
His Excellency Governor and Deputy Governor also flagged off the water Bowsers under the same project.
The event was also graced by Water Department CEC Mr. Martin Anyange, KWAWASCO’s MD, Mr. Eric Parmet amongst others.

Majimboni Water Project
Few weeks back Water Services Trust Fund County Residence Mornitor Antony Kingi, and County Assistant Engineer Hassan Nyawa from the Ministry of Water Kwale County Government led the team of various Contractors who had applied for the Majimboni Water Project tender for a thorough Site visit.
The Water Project is based on laying down a 7 Km pipeline from Mkurumudzi river and construction of a water treatment chamber where the beneficiaries of Kubo South residents will enjoy clean treated water free from diseases.
The clean treated water will be harvested from River Mkurumudzi all the way from the off-take constructed past the bridge up to past Shimbahills Secondary School where 2 major eleveted tanks of capacity 250,000litres will be Constructed.

Godoni-Chitsanze Water Project
KWAWASCO team that included Technical Manager Swalehe Chidzuga and ICT Manager Hussein Mwavadu, Water Services Trust Fund County Residence Monitor Antony Kingi, and County Assistant Engineer Hassan Nyawa from the Ministry of Water Kwale County Government led the team of various Contractors who had applied for the tender for a thorough visit of Godoni and Chitsanze region being the Project site.
The Godoni-Chitsanze Water Project funded by Water Services Trust Fund with a budget of Kshs 15 milion intends to boost water supply all the way from Godoni up to Chitsanze and the entire Kwale Township and its environs being a fast growing area so that residents of the region maximumly enjoy water supply.
The project will include construction of a 65,000litres elevated tank in Godoni, A 4inch 7km water pipeline all the way from Godoni to Chitsanze and 2 water kiosks along the pipeline.
The project is set to begin mid September 2016 immediately after evaluation and awarding of tender is done.
